EVALUATION

During this Term of Creative Media, we did a fun and interesting topic on making an original species, using photoshop. Although we had a whole term to do this, the due date start creeping up on you without any realisation. I finished both of my Avatars but i felt as if I could of done at least one more. I also wished to include an animal of one of my species.

The species which I created, are quite scared and when danger approached they camouflage with their surroundings. As you can see in the step by step way in which i created my avatar (as you can see in my blog), the steps to making it were quite simple but very effective.

If I had more time i would have added another step and given all of my avatars a certain pattern on their hair which they can be identified by. As said earlier, if i had time again, i would have also included some animals which come from the same planet of the species. The animals would have the same principals as the people and would turn invisible when predators come and sneak up on their food as well. As well as this, i think i should have experimented more with different techniques before deciding which one to, and which ones not to use.

In my first Avatar the girl looks expressionless, which is actually an expression called neutral. She is waiting for the predator to move away and just laying there not moving. I am very happy with my first avatar as I think it looks quite real and it is a picture which you have to look at twice to make sure you are actually seeing someone.

My second Avatar's expression, is surprised. Although I think it did turn out well, I didn't like it as much as my first Avatar. I think this is because the skin is green to match the environment and it doesn't look as good as the other skin colour. If I had more time on this image I would have experimented more with the hue and saturation to make it blend more and look more natural.

At first I found this blog quite annoying, but you see as time goes on it is good at tracking what you have done and would to need to do in the future. I am happy with my blog and look forward to using it even more next term. I also really enjoyed using photoshop, and wish we had another term of it. I am glad with the progress I have made, and at the start of the term i never thought i would be able to do this. Photoshop is a very useful tool and i look forward to using it again later in life.

AVATAR 2-FINAL COPY

On the left is my final AVATAR. My last step was to rub out the insides and change the hue staturation of the skin and hair to match the environment.
Compared to what i did in my first avatar this step was quite a lot quicker, and also used a different method. Instead of rubbing out the unnecessary parts from the original background image, i just selected the image with the magic brush tool and everything disappeared except for the girl.

AVATAR 2-Part1

For my second avatar i went with the same idea. And for my first step i copied the girl onto the rainforest background.

AVATAR 1-FINAL COPY

The image on the left is my final avatar. In this last step i combined all of my previous steps to make this complete. This is my Avatar before she has turned invisible (notice she is slightly transparent).

AVATAR 1-Part3

In the third step I added another layer (with a mask) and rubbed out everything except for the hair. I then changed the hue saturation so that the hair colour matched the background, and blended in.

AVATAR 1-Part2

AVATAR 1-Part2

During this step i had to add a mask on the previous layer and rub out any unneeded body parts. Such as the skin and hair.

AVATAR 1-part 1

These are the two images which i used to creat my first avatar. My first step was to copy the picture of the girl and paste her on to the background image of the stones.

EPIC FAIL

This was one of the images I tried to do for assignment but it turned out woeful. IT didn't work as the skin colour was already a light blue and it didn't work underwater.
