The story line of the story is a girl's first day at school. The clock represents the early morning start and having to get to classes on time. The two photos where she is quite small (the teacup and the green one) represent her having no power over the situation, where she is and the fact she doesn't know anyone. The fourth picture is of her sitting outside at lunch by herself. The picture is in black and white to show that she it cut off from everyone else as if she know no one. The last picture is the girl and her friend in colour which shows the fact that she has made a friend and is now happy.
